Title: The bizarre world of trainers
Post by: Miss Demeanour on January 18, 2010, 01:10:53 PM
I went looking for a new pair of trainers today  - no specific brand name in mind just a decent , supportive ,cushioned,  bouncy , comfortable pair for use at the torture palace.

Did I want ones for cushioned, stability or for motion control  eeek:

Did I want to use them for performance or for running  eeek:

Did I want 'N' lock systems, air systems , gel systems,  holes in the soles

Are they for forwards movement ( running) or sideways movement ( aerobics )  noooo:

Did I need a second mortgage to buy them ?

Anyways didn't buy a pair today - they didn't have any in a colour I liked  lol:

You need a decent pair of plimsolls (in black) is all - or bumper boots (black & white)... none of this new fangled rubbish...

Buy cheap ones from Peacocks, Matalan, etc.

You don't need all the sooper-dooper support/padding etc, they are not good for you despite all the advertising blurb.

Flat ones are best for treadmill work

I remember having an almighty barney with my eldest lad when he was 13 back in '87, insisting on a pair of 'Black Knight' pumps.
75 bloody snotters...seventy bloody FIVE! eeek:

His mother caved in and bought them without any contribution from me whatsoever.

They lasted 3 months before being binned in tatters. ::)
