Not being a beachy hot sunshiny type creature like, I was actually quite suprisingly impressed with the old Costa back in October last year.
The fantastic luxury apartment I rented off me accountant we had on the top of a big 'ill did actually help though, overlooking the mountains. cloud9:

From his blog
snakes... There is one the locals call either the '5 step snake' or the '7 step snake', depending on how scary they want to be. It bites you, you walk 5 or 7 steps and you're dead. I think that's where they got the 5 'Finger Heart Punch' in 'Kill Bill' from. I have simple rule to help me stay alive here. Don't put your feet on anything but the ground, don't walk into rooms without looking first and don't put your hand anywhere without looking first, so far it's working.

I was using the lapbook, p'raps it's the very small keyboard allowing me to hit more than one key at a time ~ I dunno ~ but it happens on that machine occasionally. Can't find a cure other than to turn it off and start again.

There has been a new development!
My sis calls and e mails to give me details about the timeshare. She also tells me that a friend of theirs, who is an expat permanent resident (estate agent) has "volunteered" to meet me at the airport and to "show me the ropes"
Her name is Katey and she is a 45 year old divorcee. rubschin:
I have seen a picture of Katey eyes:
Katey is happy, it seems, to "show me around a bit" eyes:
Could be an interesting week rubschin:

Tenerife, Spain - Heavy storms have caused flooding and left thousands without electricity in Spain's Canary Islands, a major tourist destination, local authorities said on Tuesday.
Several roads were blocked in the Atlantic Ocean archipelago but there were "no serious incidents," said the official in charge of security for the regional government, Jose Miguel Ruano.
But he said dozens of people were evacuated during the night as a precautionary measure.
Around 10 000 people were without power on the island of Tenerife, while mobile phone networks were also affected on a number of islands.
The weather also delayed some flights on the islands of La Palma and El Hierro, Spain's airport authority said. -
I'm sure it will be fine before you go scared2:
