Title: Terror Threat
Post by: Barman on January 23, 2010, 08:25:12 AM
I see the terror threat level has been raised...  ::)

I'm afraid I'm sooo cynical about this lot now I don't believe a word of it... in fact I believe that Gorgon would LOVE a nice terrorist atrocity at the moment to deflect attention from his incompetence...

In fact I wouldn't put it past this lot to do a bit of bombing to save their own skins at the GE. How sad is that...?  Shrugs:

Are we all expected to be a bit more frightened of muslims with backpacks?

So yesterday if I saw one I would be:  scared2: scared2: scared2:

Today I have to be:  scared2: scared2: scared2: scared2:

Nope. I am more frightened of the Government  noooo:

Well they obviously can't tell us for security reasons...  ::)

This lot are totally bloody clueless aren't they...?

What was the terror threat level when the IRA were blowing us up every week I wonder?  Shrugs:

And how we remember that the government banned all direct flights from Ireland... oh hold on tho...  ::)

They don't need bomb attacks now, give it a couple of weeks and then make a statement about a 'large terrorist plot' that has been foiled but only give out information that can't be confirmed by any other source and claim it is due to national security considerations. This government are arrogant enough to think we would believe the statement and decide they are doing a good job after all.

You're right of course... I guess we can almost guarantee a plot foiled before too long...

Judging from some of the posts on here that little trick may backfire.

http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=7437&edition=1&ttl=20100123124700 (http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=7437&edition=1&ttl=20100123124700)

I could be mistaken but 15-20 years ago weren't the only terrorist attacks being carried out in the UK coming from the IRA et al and not islamic fundamentalists?

Quote
well we are certainly safer from terrorist attacks than we were 15-20 years ago, despite the fact that the pro-terrorists here in the UK are trying to tell us that we are now more at risk. The opposite is true, less people have died in the UK from Islamic terrorist attacks under this government than they did under the last.

I've got more chance of being ravaged by a loose mad rabied dog up 'me 'ill' than getting killed by a terrorist.

Got lunged at by a muddy mongrel this avvy in fact, so there you go. I rest me case ::)

We've actually had to have terrorist awareness training at work  eeek: - not about risk to our place of work but when we go out and about and visit people in their own homes

 lol:

The biggest risk generally to us when visiting people is going uninformed into the homes of those with mental health issues.  However as Social Services refuse to share such information no one else in the authority is informed. I have had a couple of really scary situations because of this  evil:

Now though we are also expected to be 'eyes and ears'  ::)

Here we go again:

UK threat level raised to 'severe' after Iraq and Syria conflicts (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28986271)

So, exactly what am I supposed to do now that I wasn't doing yesterday?

I notice the BBC has taken to announcing that on current anit-terror laws, we have a "Gap in our Armoury"    Banghead evil:

Should it not be a "Gap in our Armour"?

I suppose PC considerations make them use "Gap" instead of "Chink"  ::)
