Still planning to go to Amsterdam later in the week, but feel restless. Is this what they mean by mid life crisis? Does anyone else here entertain fantasies of completely changing their life? I am a bit worn out with mine. I never bought a lottery ticket so that one is out, but I need a change. Everyone I know seems to be either divorced or dead or both. London is an option rubschin: I have a flat there. I have the car back, could go anywhere. Do I want to? Where?

In the last 40 years:
18 house moves (which covered 8 counties, an island and a change of country), 16 affairs, 12 employers, 9 changes of career, 2 wives, 5 children (possibly 6) and yet still the same old shite day in, day out.
What else could I do to change my life?

Not actually as mad as it sounds. Many of his age do just that......and end up on hossy mind. rubschin:
You need a hobby. You spend far too much time in here talking shite, exagerating and living a life of fantasy.
Shake yourself up, do something constructive, set yourself personal targets and goals, and get real.
Time is running out....fast.

Motorbikes are very expensive here - a new Fireblade costs ?16,000! eeek:
My guess is that bringing from the UK to here would be cheaper....

Couldn't I just drive in as a 'appy tourist like, and dump it on a dealer to sort out all that shite?

Drove a Kawata 'wasp' from JoG's to Lands End in 3 days in '98 I think it was, and apart from fuel starvation going over Shap, it didn't miss a beat. noooo:

They did an article with piccies on me and their bike in Motorcycle News!
Gave me a brand new spare bike in a van that followed me all the way, but it never tyrned a wheel.
I had to give the bikes back to them though unfortunately. sad32:

You can keep a vehicle on UK plates for six months so yes, I suppose you could dump it on a dealer or at my owse...
Fair old trip tho.... rubschin:
And I think you'll have to stuff it in a container at Piraus and follow it down by ferry separately.... You can't go through Turkey as it will be deemed as an illegal port of entry and the bike would be worthless....

A mate of mine once biked to Cyprus to visit some friends. It was when the island was still divided. He entered on the wrong side and the closest he got to their house was looking at it through binoculars ::)

Honestly, getting over the border is a piece of urine - you need a visa (ker-ching) and you have to buy their car insurance (ker-ching) then you are away... Five minutes unless the border is very busy...

Get yourself out to Perugia on a scheduled flight and I could take you the rest of the way. We could route Perugia-Brindisi-Athens-Paphos.
