Title: Sir Stirling Moss
Post by: The Moan Ranger on March 08, 2010, 10:09:10 PM
He used to come into my petrol station when I worked there 25 years ago. A true gent, unlike Vanessa Redgrave who used to come in and was extremely rude.

Sir Stirling has been fairly badly injured after falling down a lift shaft : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8555609.stm

I bet the insurers of the building in Mayfair are shitting bricks now.

It will be down to the HSE to investigate

But yes - imagine the insurers , managing agents and freeholders wil be having a bit of a panic right now  whistle:

It has actually happens a lot more often than you would think eeek:

One of those automatic response things where your body has already carried out it's action ( i.e. stepping out the lift) before you realise that it is not actually at the floor level you are meant to be  and that it isn't actually a light bulb that's blown that makes it quite dark

I walked straight into a wagon inspection pit in the dark back in '92 and did quite a bit of damage to meself. ::)
Hope Stilring gets better quickly, but a bit dodgy at 80 though.  rubschin:
A fine gent and crackin' driver of his time. Proper driving skills required in those days, unlike these computerised H&S caccoons they steer around now. ::)

New F1 season starts again this weekend btw. ;)
