People should wait for the announcement instead of reacting to the media pre-announcement hype. The Minister has said, quite clearly, that there is no intention of forcing a date on anyone, that whilst the Government are happy to support industry led moves toward digital radio nothing will be switched off until the customers want it that way. In the meantime it is up to the industry to prove their case and provide a service that the public will buy into but in the meantime FM will run along side the attempts to improve DAB technology. Ed Vaizey MP was on the wireless this morning repeating all that. He also stressed that 2015 is the date set by the industry NOT by the government. He sees it as an aspiration not a deadline.
I think the point being missed by many is that the BBC have invested heavily in the technology and will continue to batter away trying to make their case by using their power as the largest audienced media provider to keep dripping out these scare stories until we all believe them. It was stated today by one expert on the Today programme that DAB is in fact 1980s technology and a lot of work needs to be done before it can be considered an suitable alternative to FM.

I'm nearly ready to launch this vile piece of totally shitty digi digi box crappy thing. cussing:
Thoughht the batteries in the remote were goosed 'cus it was changing channels sssssssssssssssssso slowly.
Hasn't made a jot of difference, and it keeps freezing too, meaning it has to be unplugged and fired up again.
Absolutely sick of it. Angry9:
Please bring back Anna Log, pleeeeease! sad32:
-
Try a "Factory Reset" .... that should solve the problem.
Sorry but Anna Log is dead and buried ~ there is no going back now.

So, as the shite digi box FINALLY decides to show some sign of life after 1 tedious time draining minute, a message comes up obliterating what I'm trying to watch, warning me that on the afternoon of the 10thApril, their will be some disruption to the service and i may therefore have to completely re-tune it to receive programmes. Banghead
Yea, you digital lovers, 'tis indeed such a wonderful pixiltating advancement in'it ey? Finger:

No, nowt to do with Virgin. Got that pleasurable installation experience to come in just 2 weeks time. What could possibly go wrong i wonder? ::)
No, it's whoever supplies this digital shite crap either regionally or nationally. I know not who what or why, and care even less tbqatth. noooo:
Things with Virgin have already got off to a poor start btw.
They came out yesterday to do a pre-installation survey, contractors i suspect.
A couple of spotty oinks turned up in a plain white tranny, and decided it would be a bit of wheeze to move backwards and forwards on the grass verge outside G Towers spinning the wheels and churning all the friggin grass up!
P'raps they thought doing that would save time actually using a bastard spade in a fortnight. cussing:
They faced the wrath of Mrs G's fury when she spotted what was going on, and apologised, friggin' pair of tit 'eds.
They don't know it yet, but they're going to have to re-seed the verge now when I speak to them. evil:
