Oh dear indeed then ~ just bathe the eye in warm water regularly and if it persists go to doctor or even A&E. You only get one pair of eyes.

Ouch ... poor Miss C happy100
Gooky eyes are horrible noooo:.
-
I was taking the rear windscreen out of a car along time ago in another life. You had to push the rubber surround out of the apature with a screwdriver. Damned screwdriver slipped and poked me in the eye. The white bit luckily, but still needed three stitches in the eyeball. Didn't feel anything because they injected the eye to deaden it. Could still see it though, and feel it it as they tugged the suture tight...

I'm glad I read that AFTER I took the screen out of the Mini today.... noooo:

I went to have mine tested today. £21.95 for the test, I need new lenses, they're varifocal, reactive with anti-glare, "the best price I can do is £227", he said, eeek: "would you like to look at new frames too". Not a bloody chance, these'll do
I went to four other opticians, they ranged from £239 to £445. I shall be looking on the web tonight

It's a joke isn't it? noooo:
I paid a fortune last year for new distance and new readers; last month the frame of the readers broke... I took them back and fortunately they were still under guarantee and a new front was ordered. The only problem was that the new front had to come from Japan eeek:. A month later and it still hadn't arrived and they said they were going to get them laser welded instead ... in Germany eeek:
At last it's done and I have them back, but honestly, next time I need a new prescription I think I'll just go to Boots for a 5 quid pair shrugs:

Get the prescription and take it to Tescos, much cheaper.
I can't get on with vari-focals. A mixture of neck-ache and vertigo. noooo:

Actually, next time I might just cut a ping pong ball in half and play blind ... whistle: Ah... Grasshopper 8)

Mine cost £45, single vision, anti glare, reactive etc. On the net from Glasses Direct.
You know it makes sense.
SWWLTBO has recently switched from getting her contacts from optician to getting them on the net ~ over a year the savings are £180. Same make, same prescription etc.

Thanks Snoopy, that beats most of the ones I looked at last night who were only offering "reglazing". With that site I get new frames, an extra pair of glasses, and don't have to leave my glasses with them for 4 - 10 days for the new lenses to be added to the somewhat old frames. My prescription isn't cheap but it's still an initial saving of £20, but I found a code on http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/discounts/glassesdirect.co.uk (http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/discounts/glassesdirect.co.uk) that gives me a further saving of £21.00 happy088
They have some sort of office/workshop in town, so I'll hopefully be able to view some of their selection of frames in-house rather than on my screen, failing that they'll send me four frames to try before buying
