Title: Birthday Books
Post by: Snoopy on July 14, 2007, 03:10:43 PM
Always a winner if they don't know what to get me.
Ended up with several and currently just started on "More Than A Game" by John Major
The MiL's choice as she knows that (i) I have been known to vote Tory and (ii) I like watching cricket.

As I say I have only just started it but I have to affirm that it gives every appearance of seeming to be an exceedingly interesting book ~ yes indeed ~ for those who like history, cricket and John Majors style ~ oh yes.

Please assume a Majoresque voice for that last sentence. Bremner would do it very well I'm sure. ::)

Brilliant.
Signal is still a prob in parts of the UK and I understand that many people still cannot receive it but I am getting good reception and am very pleased. It enables me to listen to the wireless during the small hours via headphones which my old bedside radio alarm did not thus I have entertainment and the missus slumbers on.

Still all analogue and valves here ? don?t think I?ll need to invest in a DAB radio any time soon? my next ?project? is a fisheye lens for my digital camera that will enable me to produce 360? panoramas with some clever software that I?ve found ? Mrs. Barman can?t quite understand the need to do so for some reason?   noooo:

Nice one happy088. I did this some time ago but for slightly different reasons. The bedside alarm was still analogue whilst the rest of the place is digital (even plumbed into the bathroom). The signal delay on DAB was really pissing me off so opted for a Pure Chronos for the bedroom... cloud9:

The range of stations is interesting too, though I've steered clear of KERRRANG!  confused:

Someone once 'shot' me using some gizmo like that; they said you need to be stationary for about 20 seconds whilst the camera does its thing  confused: Seemed to work though.

It reminded me of those school photographs aeons ago... you know the ones where, if you were positioned at the end, you could run to the other end and appear twice  lol:

allegedly...

Mind you I wouldn't know what to do with it if I had.

Do people still take pictures of fish after that Irwin chap got gored?
