I replied that " no I don't but I do like him and am grateful that he has always been in her life and loves her sooo much. "

Just don't know why after all these years she is thinking of this stuff now  rubschin:

I never get asked that about anyone by someone, and no one tells me either, that's because I don't and no one else does as well, so no such problems there then for me or anyone else then ey..if you get me drift like.  cloud9:

For what it is worth in my experience ...........

They always do. Mine did ages after their mother and I split and they were grown up. Partly I suspect they are saying "Do you still love me?"
I floored my elder daughter completely by telling her the truth.
The oldest (boy) just shrugged off my explanations even though he had posed the question...... Perhaps we are not on the same wavelength (perhaps we never were) Anywhoo I haven't heard from him in donkey's years but since he is 42 I don't suppose I ever will now. Daughter still stays in touch which is nice.

I'm going from my own experience here but is it possible that she feels the breakup was somehow her fault?

Miss D you are about to go on holiday which I hope that you will enjoy.  In brief and it is brief cause there is a whole host of emotions that go with this from my point of view, do I love their father in the normal male female sense, no there is a lot of pain involved.  Do I love the child that was a result oh yes and YES again, can I wipe the father out no, was the child conceived during the love stage yes, that is a lot of love and care going around.  In any language other than  ours there are many words that describe love.  From what you have posted on here your daughter is much loved both by you and her father.

We or at least I will get slated fr this but you go girl you have a very strong relationship with you daughter build on it .

xx
