Bailiffs! scared2:
It appears that the previous occupants of Nick Towers #4 fled with big bills owing. I have more big scarey letters from bailffs than a big thing. I shall call them in the morning. What can possibly go wrong? scared2:

That explains a lot. (Price, eagerness of estate agent etc. Obviously a bank repo)

Serious Note: Get onto a credit agency (Experian) and let them know you have bought the place or you will find yourself being "Blacklisted" from many credit companies, banks etc. That address will be a problem unless Experian has it down on their records that it has changed hands. Better yet get your solicitor to do it for you and don't put it off!
Make sure, whether you or your solicitor does it, that you get a letter back confirming they have noted it against the address or it will come back to haunt you.
I had similar problems at a previous address and it ain't funny.

Very wise posting, a lot could go wrong and it is no fault of your own but you will regret not making a 'clean start' because of the previous scuzzers.

There is always some residue mail and threatening letters but now at least they will not clamp your car and break down doors whilst you are out. Oh yes I have been there.

All of this does in no way excuse you for your appalling spelling error in the first post. I expect better from you noooo:
