Bit of a tricky one this, but we're always (except me of course) rattlin' on about how bloody awful he/she/they are.
Thought I'd turn this one on it's head and ask the question...WHO do you most admire on how they conduct themselves, give to society and are generally a decent sort that we are proud to know?
Hasn't got to be anyone particulary in the public eye, it can be your flamin' postman if you want.

Er... So that's a no-one then?... rubschin:

Mrs. Barman. whistle:

Um rubschin:

Sir Tom Hunter has to be worth a mention surely?
Full story here (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=469121&in_page_id=1770)
Highlight:
A businessman has announced plans to give at least ?1billion to charity.
Sir Tom Hunter, a 46-year-old Scot, said it will take the rest of his life to hand over the money.
Worthy of some applause I'd say!
-
it will take the rest of his life to hand over the money
What does that mean then? Sounds more like a legacy.
-
Yes, I just saw the end of this story last night, and IF he comes up with the dosh, he's to be applauded.
Not a publicity stunt i hope to further his business interests?
God I'm SO damned cynical. ::)
Wonder if I should send him a letter congtatulating him on his generosity, FULL name, address, postcode and telephone numbers supplied of course? rubschin:
-
No, he is Scottish. That rules him out in my book.
-
So there we have it then.
ONE half decent geezer in the WHOLE wide werld!
Great in'it? A world mainly full of scheming thieving two faced bad mannered unreliable power hungary selfish greedy bastards then? ::)
Thought as much.
Carry on grumping. evil:
Thread closed. lol:

our local street sweeper, I only know him as Nigel, but he's up and down this road everyday, no matter what the weather. I even gave him a cup of beans and a sausage last winter whistle:

I am sure he is still talking about it! point:

The man who found my mobile phone at the station and then drove 45 mins out of his way at 11pm to get it back to me. No idea who he was but he restored my faith in human nature.

Nah. He could probably smell your perfume on it and thought he'd be rewarded with a bit of..... "would you like to come in for a coffee"? eyes:
Shame you opened the door really I suppose, and shattered his dreams. scared:

Happened to me once Mr G. Popped in for a coffee and ended up there for the weekend. It was certainly worth the wheel clamp!

Vol 3 were good too. Edited after his death by Jane and a friend.
Now she I also admire as she stood by him and, after his demise, would not let anyone else denigrate him but preferred to show him warts and all in both Vol 3 and the subsequent TV series where she was played by Jenny (Phoar) Agutter and he brilliantly by John Hurt.
And for lovers of the delightful Miss Agutter

I will admit that there is a part of me that admires Nick. This is a man who the universe has decided to beat up on a daily basis and still pokes his head out from under the duvet every morning.
Granted I'm still not sure if this is bravery or madness but either way he deseves a mention point:
