Osborne seems to have shot a number of Labour Foxes ....... Johnson used a pre-prepared speech that failed to mention any details (indeed he demonstrated that he simply did not grasp any of the facts announced) showing he is still better suited to scattering red rubber bands on the streets of London than being a Shadow Chancellor. He was a twat when I knew him as a shop steward for the Postal Union and as far as I am concerned he still is.

Now we must await the analysis in the papers to see the real effects on us all but from what I heard and saw it is nowhere near as bad as expected.

Osborne was very slick, and made much of Hutton's and Frank Field's contributions. Johnson was out of his depth. Yvette Cooper looked glum and semi-conscious throughout!

Was as expected really and I guess what we have prepared for in our place ...we shall wait and see.

As long as The Brat doesn't think she will be living with me until she can afford her own place , or expect me to fund her university education ( if that is ever a consideration)  noooo:

As more detail and explanation is trickling out it seems to me that people are clinging onto the past but what is being proposed, whilst in the short term will cause many a measure of grief, once it has bedded in it will become the norm for us to see things in a different way.

I expect when the wheel was invented many thought it would bring the world to an end but in reality it simply meant they had to change the way they behaved and eventually it became the accepted way of things.
I'm not defending Osborne ~ just trying to be practical.

Mother always said "That which cannot be cured must be endured" and that seems to apply to all this.

ALSO Let's not forget that all these changes are to take place over a four to five year period. It won't all happen at once. The trick will be to prepare to adapt where and when necessary. Not to worry about things until they happen which, by the time they do come to pass, we will have grown used to and much will go on as before.

(Well this is The Commons and I am supposed to be serious here)

As for your boys, the EMA is going  whistle:

The THW qualifies until she leaves school in July 2011. IDS said so at lunch time today.

The boys, being "Home Educated" children, wouldn't have got it anyway.

In their case I should be paid for doing the job the state plainly cannot.  evil:
