I've just sent an email, but haven't put a question mark at the end of a sentence I wrote cus i wasn't too sure if I should like, the sentence not actually ending with the question bit of the question, if you get me drift like? confused:
....is this still a possibility, as if so, I'd be interested.

Dear Miss Whiplash, we have an arrangement for you to pop round on Thursday whilst Mrs Growler is busy. Is this still a possibility? If so, I'd be interested. whistle:

Oh, I see. the last bit of the question should have been a seperate sentence, and not part of the question at all, cus it wasn't one...a question that is, like? rubschin:

Exactly, how many!?

Oh yes, and when are you supposed to use these quotation marks " as opposed to the ' single one type ones after werds....not the abbreviation' ones for werds if you get me drift.
Sometimes sheeples seem to use the single ones ' when I think they should be using the double " ones, unless they're abbreviating a specific werd like.
English language is such a pain sometimes. Banghead

English language and punctuation is constantly evolving. Common usage tends to change over time and of course there is the American English influence.
Many people use ' ' when they should use " ".
I tend to use the double to denote speech and the single if I wish to insert further speech into it
E.G. She said "I told him 'I don't love you' but he wouldn't accept it and replied ' Yes you do really' so I slapped him".
I have no doubt that there are those who will find that I am wrong but as long as it conveys the meaning I am striving to get across I am happy with it.
According to purists I also use ~ in all the wrong places, but it serves to break up a sentence and create the stress that I wish to put on to something.
My feeling is that if it makes sense it doesn't matter much but then again ..... pedantry can be such fun that I find it hard to resist ~ at times!
