Title: The AA again!

How can leaving your satnav plugged in completely drain the battery?  cussing:

You have the option for it to power down when you switch the ignition off...

My new one switches itself of with the ignition ~ it also offers an option to run on it's internal battery if I wish it. Gives me 30 seconds to press the button to accept that option and then switches itself off. It certainly does not run on the car battery when the ignition is off as it is plugged into the cigar lighter and that won't work if the ignition is off. I reckon you have a dodgy battery.

An alternative is that one of your internal lights (prolly the one in the boot) is permanently on.

Nope. It was plugged into the fag lighter and when I unplugged it all the readings changed   noooo:

And how is your new satnav?  whistle:

Got me to the pub in a village I have never been to before without any problems, despite my ignoring it's desire to take me via the M6. It simply recalculated a journey to allow for my deviation from instructions given and picked up the route I was taking within about 20 seconds.
Deliberately misled it by taking wrong turnings on way home and it again recalculated a route to allow for them.

Wondering why I have always been against having one  whistle:

Ackchooly it was not only to find Miss C and you but the arguments whilst driving abroad that prompted the purchase ..... SWWLTBO cannot read a map! The Sat Nav does not have a lengthy debate about my ignoring her directions (yes it has a female voice) but simply gets on with the job .... Bliss! cloud9:

I first used on in Canada. SHe would say "Continue for 458 miles," and then fook off and do her nails or summat  ::)

We all jumped when she came to and said, "In one mile.....". We called her The Lady in the SKy. I think The Boy thought she lived on a space station  noooo:

I'm just glad I used it today when I was alone in the car .... I realised after about 20 miles that I was saying "Thank you dear" every time the voice spoke  redface:

F*ck knows what the family would have said if they'd been there.

My car has one built in. I scoffed at first but wouldnt be without it now. I use it even for routes I know well, because the ETA is so useful.

Mine started "Bonging" like fury at one point yesterday and something was flashing on the screen. Since I can't drive too well without specs on but cannot read without taking them off I pulled my glasses down my nose to peer over the top of them at the device. This caused me to slow right down and bugger me! It was warning me of a speed camera. As I rounded the bend there the sods were, parked at the side of the road in their little van with the cut out hatch in the back door. I paid £55 for it so reckon, saving me a £60 fine and three points, it has more than earned its keep in the first day of use. You could say I am in profit   razz:

Never had one personally but a mate of mine has. We had to go up to some workshop in Norf London once and he reckoned it would do the trick  rubschin:

We ended up squished in a back alley / mews where a Malaysian street party was in full swing. I lowered the passenger window and was handed Chicken Satay  razz:
