Title: Reputation?

Since we have upgraded to the new board software we have reverted to the old 'reputation' system with 'Clap' and 'Smote' buttons.

However, we retained the 'reputations' from the old system which scored much higher... it is clear that it will take forever to smote Nick back to zero...

So, should we leave it as it is or reset all reputations back to zero?  rubschin:

Scrap the whole idea. We all know what we think of others and for sure no-one has ever been afraid to speak their mind on any particular post. Frankly I do not see the point of "reputation" ~ it's not as if one can make use of it, for example on a CV.
Quality of posts can be acknowledged by means of posting a suitable reply (eg evil:) or by making a comment.

Clap and Smote (or smite) just takes us back to the old tit for tat game we had in the beginning (and one of the main reasons for changing from it)
