Took Growler here for a walk on SUnday and told him all about it. SPent virtually allof my childhood here dong, in sequence:
Watching steam trains with me dad
Picking blackberries
Bike rides
Playing cowboys and injuns
Making dens
Skinny dipping
Reading (moody adolescent)
Courting in secluded spots eyes:
Growler loved the wildlife, shacks, sheds, boats and so do I cloud9:

I can confirm and vouch for this place, and can easily understand why Nick holds it close to his heart and childhood memories.
It would have done so for me too if I'd lived in the vicinity as a nipper. Endless possibilities for den building, one of my favourite pastimes.
I was half tempted to go rummaging in the undergrowth while I was there tbqh. lol:
Reminded me so much of the Norfolk Broads, and you certainly wouldn't imagine you are only a couple of miles from the city centre. eeek:
