It seems that in their insane drive toward "renewable" energy production a previous government has signed us up to what has to be the biggest rip-off yet.
Apparently when the heavily subsidised wind farm owners generate too much electricity for the National Grid to handle .... ie more than the populace are using at any given time ..... they get paid to turn the fvcking things off. Some wind farms are, it seems, worth more to their owners when not working than when they are producing power.
