I never used to find it amusing, but having watched a few episodes lately I realise it is more documentary than comedy. noooo:

That's because you've approached the age of the characters dear boy!
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

A dreadful programme IMO.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

A dreadful programme IMO.
Agreed. A weak attempt at the Dad's Army formula but without any real context, using actors from a several shelves lower.
Apart from Peter Sallis, obviously.
I mostly despair

The original cast were pretty good but it has dated ... all the deaths of various cast members and subsequent replacements have ruined it.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

I remember watching it a few times as a kid but not thinking that much of it, the same as Some Mothers Do Have Them. Having said that Compo, Clegg, Foggy and Nick could have been interesting to see.  rubschin:
