Came across this on Faceache - just wondered if JOM (as our resident keeper of the road system) might know the answer?

Growler posted it a few weeks back and I've seen other sites showing it.

It's a stupid height for a camera, it could be obscured by vegetation, by a person, by a placcy bag stuffed conveniently in the safety fence in front of it, and you'd want some protection for a £30 - 40,000 camera, then theres the effectiveness of the safety fence etc. I've not seen anything about it in the trade publications I get, and I've not been able to find any official article about it on the web either, just references to the other forums about it, you'd at least expect the local papers nearby to have something about it. As far as I'm concerned it's a fake... but I could be proved wrong

OK found it, went to a site that I use to frequent

It's a speed sensor that triggers a camera, if you're heading out that way, it's on Swiss Autobahn 1, just South of J/tion 11, north of Geneva  :thumbsup:

They switched all the fixed cameras here a few years ago.............only got the mobile thingys here......
