Santander Bank Weirdness
« on: March 28, 2013, 04:42:44 PM »
OK. If I have £3000 in my current account I get 3% ON CONDITION THAT:

I have two direct debits
and pay in £500 a month

SO it seems one DD can involve transferring £500 a month from another account and then returning it the next day BACK to the other account  rubschin:

That is known as 'cross firing' in the banking werld and is a fraudulent transaction to make your bank think you have plenty of dosh when you are just sloshing the few quid you have between accounts. nonono:

Important information about the 123 Current Account
To benefit from cashback on household bills and interest on your balance, just follow these steps:

Pay a monthly account fee of £2 (which will be automatically taken from your account each month);

Fund the account with £500 a month (a minimum balance of £1,000 is required to receive interest).  This is not a calendar month, it is the month from the date you opened your account. Interest and transfers from any other Santander accounts do not count towards the monthly funding amount.

Set up a minimum of two Direct Debits.  For cashback household bills must be paid by Direct Debit to organisations within eligible categories.
That'll be two outgoings then

Well, whatever, nevermind

Yes, the other is £2 a month to save a polar bear, or giraffe or somehting.

Is there a £2 a month thing for giraffes yet?  rubschin:
