"Who knows the answer to this one?
Domestic green garden waste!.
Does a Cypriot local authority have a duty to collect and dispose of it or provide a safe viable means for residents to dispose of it themselves?
I ask this question because in Pissouri Domestic Green Waste was until recently collected along with general domestic waste but now is not. Apparently the Domestic Green Waste clogs up the refuse wagons mechanisms and a dedicated appropriate vehicle is not available. Fair enough so far!
The Pissouri Village Office is directing residents that have transport to take Domestic Green Waste to a designated dumping ground some 3 miles from the village, over the hills and far away and up a Cypriot dirt track that is only passable to some off the road vehicles and car drivers that don't care about damage to their own vehicles or those of others.
So if Local Authoreties do have a duty to collect Domestic Green Waste or Provide a Viable Dumping area for the waste it would be nice to know so that this issue can be moved forward."
