Road closed due to accident
« on: October 22, 2007, 11:50:41 AM »
I see the M6 is expected to be closed for several hours after an accident this morning. Having recently been turfed off the A10 twice because of accidents that caused me considerable delay, I have to ask why it always takes so long to clear?

I also note that Cumbrian police are now finding excuses for the closure.

Insp Terry Bathgate, of Cumbria Police, said: "There is significant technical difficulties in recovering a vehicle of this size."

A few snaps of the scene, tape measure for the skidmarks (on the road surface that is redface:), then whip a chain round the wreck and drag it onto the hard shoulder with their Range Rover.

Maximum time at scene 15 minutes.

As I am a humane person, I would accept the clock needn't start before the body is removed from the wreckage.
