DIY jobs that go out of control
« on: September 10, 2020, 05:46:48 PM »
Three lights mark the path from the front door to the car park.

One failed (crack in the lightshade let water in)

Tried to buy a replacement shade

Had to buy the whole unit

Tried to fit new shade part to old unit. Redesigned shade does not fit old unit

Neighbour gets "handyman" brother in to fit entire unit

It is the middle one of three wired in series

Turns off appropriate switches in cellar and cuts everyone's TV signal

Fire alarms go off

Wires won't fit in new connector

Needs pliers

Has no pliers

No one has pliers

Neighbour sent out to buy pliers (6.40 p.m.)

It is getting dark

Has anyone got a torch?

......

Further news later

Two screws secure the base

They are lost amongst autumn leaves

A hunt is on

Would this be a good time to mention BM has some multicolour Chinese wifi bulbs that may have fitted?
