The boiler man cometh
He seeeth Nick's boiler
And runneth away screaming

It's packed up again, taking out the plug sockets sometime during the night - presumably when the hot water cycle comes on at 0300. I spotted it at about 0400 when I raised my weary bones to have a slash, as the internet router in the hallway was off. Lucky I did, or all the stuff in my fridge/freezer would have been bollloxed.  cussing:

No a 20 year old jobbie. Separate hot water tank and the really old fashioned stuff. The system is losing water somewhere (there are some strange valves above it) and I think it's sucking air in and forcing the water somewhere - possibly the expansion tank - or burping it out and it evaporates as it's above the boiler itself. Annoying thing is the pressure guage always says the right thing - 1.0 - 1.4 bar, but this is simply a false reading contaminated by air, as I soon find out when I bleed the system and it drops to nothing.
