Small child cut his head open on the gate post at school a couple of days ago, was a right old mess apparently. Mr Wench said he felt terrible because he couldn't even give him a hug to try and make him feel better.

We get phone calls asking if it's allright to give an asprin or sticky plaster. When we said "Of course" to the sticky plaster one was handed to the then 5yo and he was told to go to the toilets, wash the wound and apply the plaster. "They" would not put it on for him. BASTARDS!  cussing:

When I heard of this I called the Head and asked why he had firstaid trained staff if they would not stick on a plaster. The reply? "To enable them to assess the injury and then, if they think it necessary, send for a parent/ambulance."
