Compensation should be recompense for loss. Damages are intended to cover other matters.
But grabbing some money is what this is all about and that is why the "agrieved" has released the details to the press.
The Cafe owner has already offered a full refund, free meals (together worth around £500) and an unreserved apology but this bitch wants more. There is no thought given to the possiblity of so damaging his business that he will be forced to close with the resultant laying off of staff etc.
If I were the cafe owner I would tell her to sod off and carefully instruct my staff in the time honoured kitchen arts of spitting in the soup, p*ssing in the gravy and w@nking into the whipped cream.
