Glastonbury organisers have confirmed that Amy Winehouse will play this summer's festival. They say they have "total faith" in the singer, who is due to perform directly before headliner Jay-Z on the Pyramid stage on 28 June. Winehouse was told on 15 May that she would not face charges over a video of her apparently smoking crack cocaine. She's since appeared in a bizarre online video with singer Pete Doherty, in which the pair handle newborn mice. Emily Eavis from the Glastonbury festival has told Newsbeat that Winehouse will be fit to play the show. She said: "I have total faith, I think she'll come and deliver. "This is one of the biggest sets of the summer, supporting the most anticipated artist at Glastonbury in the past 38 years." 'Hot air from the press' Recently her close friend, Brit winner Mark Ronson, claimed she isn't ready to work on music after a collaboration on the new James Bond title track was put on hold. Her record company denied his claims, saying she wasn't that keen on the track. Eavis said: "I don't know how much is hot air from the press and how much is reality but she is pretty reliable actually. "It's her personal life and no-one really knows the extent of what she's up to and I don't think it should be public knowledge. "We all know she's a brilliant performer and I think that's what we should be focusing on." The announcement will boost the normally sold out event which has witnessed a drop in demand this year. Some critics blamed the line-up, but the festival's founder Michael Eavis insisted the fall in ticket sales was the result of bad weather at the previous two events. Glastonbury is not Amy Winehouse's only gig of the summer. She is due to headline Bestival on the Isle of Wight on 6 September, with shows planned at T In The Park and the V Festival. Winehouse is also due to play a number of festivals across Europe, starting with Portugal's Rock In Rio on 30 May, Ireland's Oxegen and Rock en Seine in Paris.
