No or perhaps I mean yes ~ well I agree with you anyway. Windfall taxes, whilst a quick, look good, headline to keep the Daily Mail quiet, are not the answer. Sensible taxation policies and a "Social" housebuilding policy is what we need right now. 40,000 construction workers have been laid off in the past two months. Get them building council houses. We get all the housing we need and we don't have to pay them dole money. Build your way out of a recession. We've done it before let's do it again.

Indeed... windfall taxes are a desperate measure by a government that will try anything (except sensible solutions such as yours) to remain in power...

Someone from BP should come on the telly and announce how much the corporation paid in tax and duty over the past year - then ask gordo what the fuck he has wasted it all on...  point:
