Dr Elton said schools were the best places to immunise children because when parents have to make special arrangements uptake was often lower.
Or put it another way "The State will get your child this way ~ and you will have little choice in the matter"
Of course one can always "opt out" but schools have been known to ignore that and give the kids jabs anyway. A Southampton School did that to my two oldest some years ago. Claimed the children didn't say anything when they were told to line up with all the others for vaccination. What child would?
Thing was that we had already had them vaccinated a year previously by our GP.
I still have the correspondence that ensued. End result was a written apology from Hampshire's Chief Medical Officer, the disciplining of the School Head and the School Nurse transferred to other duties.
