A collection of radio talks given by John Betjeman during the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Excellent read. Each "talk" is about three or four pages long (they were half hour programmes I understand) and you can dip in and out wherever you want as there is no running story although the talks have been edited in the order in which they were originally given. He yatters on about old churches, buildings, roads, railways, housing developments and Lord only knows what else. Very evocative of a bygone era and an absolute delight.
Forgive me if you have read me going on about this before ~ I think I may have mentioned it in another place.
