Stupid Letters from Retailers
« on: November 18, 2008, 11:56:59 AM »
Currys have just written to me. We bought a new washing machine from them last December and they have written to tell me the warranty is about to expire. At the top of the letter they state in bright red letters "Warning, If your Washing Machine (when did Washing Machine become two proper nouns needing capital letters?) breaks down after the warranty expires, you could face major repair bills, (Why the need for commas there?) such as £207 for a new drum ..... or even the FULL COST of a new Washing Machine, (there they go with the capital letters again) if yours is beyond repair.

The same machine is on sale in their local store at £179  Banghead

Do they really think I am going to buy their "extended warranty"?
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Stupid letters from retailers... hmmm  rubschin:

I've just had a Christmas card from the Royal Mail, to let me know Christmas is on its way. I imagine you'll all get one too.
I'd prefer they spent the money on improving deliveries  evil:

As a member of Post Watch I suppose I could explain that to you ~ but frankly I can't be arsed.

We had that yesterday, here in civilisation.   whistle:

I also received a letter from the local MP "thanking me for my continued support" and asserting that "Every penny I have donated has been used to help local issues, blah, blah, blah".

Which is interesting. I didn't vote for him, nor to my knowledge have any of my monies gone to his party in the way of a donation. I have e-mailed his office to ask for answers.
