US users of The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) can now watch films and TV episodes free of charge on its website. More than 6,000 full-length feature films including classic movie Some Like It Hot and TV shows like Heroes and 24 are available to watch. First episodes of new series like Knight Rider and 30 Rock will also be available for free viewing before their first television broadcast. The service is currently only available to US users due to licensing issues. Both recent and classic films are available to watch, including Master and Commander, Raising Arizona and Fiddler on the Roof. Fans can also watch past TV classic shows like Beverley Hills 90210, Bewitched, Charlie's Angels and Star Trek. "We're excited to offer our users a simple online experience to watch full-length movies and TV episodes for free," said Col Needham, founder and managing director of IMDB. "Our goal is to show our users every movie and TV show on the internet for free." A spokesman for Amazon, which owns IMDB, would not say whether the company had any plans for the service to be made available in the UK.
