Just a thought Miss D but do you have a protective cover over the touch screen. If so then they can make it harder to get the touch screen to work as they reduce the amount of pressure that gets through to it.

I am applying ample pressure with no protection  lol:

A lot of these screens are heat sensitive, thus cold fingers don't help!
