More than 200 restricted growth athletes are to compete at the World Dwarf Games in Belfast next month.

Northern Ireland is fielding a contingent of 12 in the events which cover a variety of track and field sports as well as New Age Kurling, an indoor version of curling used as part of rehabilitation programs in hospitals.

Athletes of restricted growth, the rules state a maximum of 130cm height for men over 18, from 15 countries, will take part.

The potential to be so politically incorrect is so huge here that I shall just  shutup:

Silly boy.

They will be doing traditional sports where they are thrown or tossed if they are lucky.

Also they are used as targets for archery and floats to hold the ropes in swimming.

I mostly despair
