Go to the fuseboard and flick the entire electricity off for a few seconds. Then back on and tell her the fuse tripped as too much power was being used.

Will that affect the burglar alarm as I did that once before and then had to wait the obligatory 20 minutes of embarrassed high pitched wailing before it cut off  redface:

In addition to this I had a letter from the credit card company saying I was going to be charged a late payment .. I didn't get the fecking bill  censored: censored: censored:

I've had a similar problem with a storecard for a while now. If I'm lucky I get a few statements a year but the moment they decide I'm behind in a payment because I've not paid enough in they find it remarkably easy to send the letters to my address.

I know that someone on here is going to tell me I can set up a direct debit but the last one I had with them mysteriously cancelled despite having more than enough cash in my account to pay for it.  Banghead

DD's don't get cancelled unless you, or the company calling it, instruct it to be cancelled. Whether or not there are sufficient funds is irrelevant - if there isn't, it is simply returned unpaid.

If YOU didn't cancel it, THEY must have. Bastards.

That's what I told them but they tried telling me that only I could cancel a DD.

I'm currently trying to get the forms off them so I can do a retroactive claim for PPP. Something I thought I'd cancelled until I got one of my once in a blue moon statements just before starting my new job. 3 weeks wait and counting.

Whoever the poor bugger is who answers my call tomorrow is going to get an ultimatum of get me the forms by Friday or I start looking into a miss selling of PPP, seeing as I've had this card since I was 18 it could add up to a decent amount.  cussing:

I hate to sound prissy but you "late payers" are or ought to be aware that your contract (that's the piece of paper headed TERMS and CONDITIONS that you didn't bother to read) clearly states that it is your responsibility to make due/minimum payments on time whether asked for or not. There is no obligation on the lender to send you a statement prior to your having to make a payment. Your payment is due each month whether they tell you so or not and if you have failed to make it then you are indeed due to pay a charge for late payment. In fact the lender could ask for immediate payment IN FULL of any and all outstanding balances, including interest and charges for late payments etc and in law you would have to pay up. The way to avoid this is to arrange for a Direct Debit to make the minimum payment each month. You can still pay off the whole amount or a larger portion of it when and if you wish (perhaps following receipt of a statement) but your obligation to the lender will be fulfilled by the "minimum payment" DD and thus prevent you ever incurring any charges.

Eezz Simples  ;)

Similar arrangements can be made with HMR&C to prevent penalties being imposed.

There ~ I have lit the touch paper and retreated to a safe distance   scared:
