We've had a power cut 'ere. Problee the gas mains renewal contractors....they are Irish after all, problee all totally tanked up on Guiness, thus disabling them to see the leccy wires whilst drilling. noooo:

That aside, the power has now come back on, and every bastard house alarm within ears reach have now kicked off. cussing:
WHY do sheepies bother with them, and WHY when an alarm goes off are the occupants NEVER EVER EVER in to turn the rancid ear splitting useless bloody things off immidiately ey, BLODDY WELL WHY!!!!!!?

Dunno what the point in having one is in the first place, as no bastard takes a blind bit of notice of them, heaving rancid pieces of electronic shite. Banghead

People with Intruder Alarms, provided said alarms are installed by an "approved" installer and are manufactured and installed to the necessary BSI standards can get huge discounts on their Home and Contents Insurance. It is in the nature of the beasts that they will only activate if the householder is away from the premises. If the alarms are BSI standard then they will have battery back up to prevent exactly the power failure activation that you speak of and all alarms are required by law to cut off, if not attended to, in twenty minutes. Any that ring for longer can be complained about to your local environmental Health Officer.

Yes I know that the world and his wife will now tell us all about alarms that they have known that ring forever but I have told you the legal position as it applies in the UK (about Cyprus I have no idea but people without passports would be well advised not to upset the local officials whistle: )and answered the "Why do people have them" question. Anyone with a complaint should ring their local council. evil:

Depends on where you are  - ours is 24hrs / 365 days and promise to be with you within 45 minutes  whistle:

As I said, depends where you live  and what services your Clownschool offers.

Could be they offer you a diary sheet to record a history of the nuisance and then advise you how to take your own legal action

Diabetic Doc says all is good..... cholesterol is low which is V Good ("Bad Cholesterol" is 1.9), average blood sugars over period since last appointment are 6 which is also V Good.
Kidney function is unimpaired by the drugs and illness, liver functions is good, urea levels are good so no problems  with the diabetes.

Cardio Doc says all is as expected ..... Heart function is about 60% of normal capacity for someone of my age. Blood pressure is 143/70. He too is pleased at the low levels of cholesterol and that diabetes is "well controlled". He is planning a heart scan in the new year but will decide on that after he has seen the results of tomorrow's "interrogation" of the implanted defibrilator. That will tell him everything that the heart has done over the last 3 months but his main concern is that battery levels may be dropping which will mean an operation to replace the device in the New Year.

Both were pleased that I have lost 4.5 kilos since last visit.
