Car Ads
« on: March 07, 2010, 11:55:38 AM »
I've just watched the clever video below and was also prompted by BM's OK Go video which was influenced by the Honda ad of a few years ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVQKrxSOx7Q

Car manufacturers seem to have a large budget for advertising and do come up with some great but I would imagine expensive ads. Is anybody influenced by these ads? Any car I've purchased in the past has been because I've seen one on the road, not as a result of watching an ad

I'd love a 2CV  cloud9: Used to hire them in my student days. Crap performance but fun to drive

For once, I actually have to agree with you, 100%!  happy088
I tried to see how far I could 'push' one before turning it over on New Brighton prom a few years ago.
My bottle went before the car did. ::)

I've been down to Snetterton to watch the 24 hr 2CV race. Bloody awesome good fun to watch, and treated very seriously by competitors.

Like flying a Spitfire in the rain on the M1 with the wipers on. They ought to sell them with a leather helmet

Citroen may possibly be bringing out a 'retro' 2CV, AND DS too! cloud9:

This new Citroen C3 DS looks pretty damned good btw, especially the 1.6 turbo Sporting version. Same engine as in the Cooper 'S'.
Near 200bhp, with potential to raise it up to 230...ish Mmmmm, rubschin:

How does the 2CV bodywork hold up? I might flog my Focus and buy one and get it mechanically sorted if I thought it would stay intact.

Why are most of these cars driving on the wrong side of the road?

Not setting a very good example.

Something tells me that by the time you were finished with them they looked like the one at the end of that video.  whistle:
