Does positive thinking work ?

The amount of time you hear this stuff being regurgitated on a regular basis about positive mental attitude ..does it actually work ?

Does it make your life better or are you just burying the same realities in a fog of  bemusement and visualisation techniques ?

If you believe it works it probably does ...... but then reality will extend an elegant ankle and trip you up.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

After spending at least five seconds positively thinking about this question I'm not at all sure. noooo:
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.
