He says he didn't know

How bloody likely is that then  ? rubschin:

Mother Dominique Cottrez killed eight babies 'to avoid contraception'

Dominique Cottrez admitted suffocating them, as officers continued searching two ‘houses of horror’ in northern France for missing bodies.

Her husband, Pierre-Marie Cottrez, was also arrested but released on bail after claiming he knew nothing about the killings – nor that his wife had been pregnant so often.

He suggested his wife’s 133kg (21st) bulk might have helped conceal the pregnancies, which occurred between 1989 and 2005.

Charges of concealing the bodies and failing to report the crimes were dropped against Mr Cottrez, 47

So he didn't know his wife was pregnant at least 8 times  noooo: noooo: noooo:

Once, twice maybe ...but eight times  whacky115

Given her size and the fact that like most middle aged Frenchmen he paid his fat wife scant attention I would say he probably had no idea.

Not really ~ it just seems likely that every now and then he would stagger home from the bar, reeking of absinthe, and give her one whilst thinking about the new waitress. He would then roll over and go to sleep. She, like a good French Catholic, would accept this as her burden and the resultant pregancy was never mentioned or noticed. Just as he would never notice anything other than the lack of his dinner on the table when he got home from work.
According to her daughters she was sometimes a bit "Fragile" and he would have accepted this as "Madam's weight problems", regret the fact that the young slender girl he had married had turned into the current tub of lard and life would carry on as before.

But what about the practicalities of being in labour 8 times that he never noticed.....presumably her rolling around in the kitchen for hours screaming and blood leaking everywhere was normal then  whacky115

Neither do I really but given French attitutes (as laid out in my previous) I reckon he'll get away with it unless "Madam" spills the beans.
