Thanks ~ I went across the road to the village war memorial and stood in silence with a few other (mainly the Community Council members). Then the Chairman read out the "They grow not old" etc and we all shook hands and went our separate ways. Very moving, just a few old tossers (self included) with heads bared and bowed and a few tears were shed. Around us village life continued as ever.
Bigger turnout will happen on Sunday coming when there will be a full service there.
