The deviousness of kids

People send money to The Boy as gifts. FOr some years Mrs Nick opened the cards and salted the cash away. My sisters consigned cards to me for hand delivery, which had already  been addressed and stamped. The Boy opened these, removed the cash and then placed said cards on the doormat. He has denied all knowledge of the money to both sisters (Mrs Nick earwigging conversation) and has now called back from the privacy of his room to thank them.

I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.
