Two 16-year-olds have been recruited as police community support officers, sparking concerns over public safety and allegations of ?cheap policing?.

The pair, who work for Thames Valley Police, are two years too young to join the main police force but as police community support officers (PCSOs) have the authority to detain and question suspects.

Although too young to watch 18 certificate films or drink in a pub, they have the power to stop and search people under terror laws and issue penalty notices for disorder.    scared2:
