Keep on running - but not in New York
« on: November 03, 2012, 07:30:34 AM »
Lots of bleating about the New York marathon being cancelled.

Some British bints on the news complaining they had just arrived in Amerikey to run the thing and it has been cancelled at the last minute.

You might have thought they perhaps should have had some concern that it might not go ahead as planned  ::) - tough luck really if the purpose of your trip has changed you are not going to get the cost of your flights back  noooo:

I'm sure the charities were applying pressure for it still to go ahead as this is such a huge revenue stream but all those that had collected sponsorship in advance I'm sure most of the sponsors would not mind this still going to the charities declared anyway  rubschin:

Give the bints golden brooms.  Makr sure they get 5 minutes on TV and all will be well, trust me I know daughter number 2 was here for a few days, she has 2 degrees and is a teacher day time TV viewing American 16 and pregnant. (I dare you to watch it and not be Angry9: censored: :lalalala Explode: within 5 minutes or less) and Made in Chelsea slightly better not because of quality but because of their accents. redface:

The Brat watches the first but not Made in Chelsea  noooo: - I refuse  noooo:

I get that people have been training for months for this event and are disappointed. I also understand that they feel a decision could have been made sooner . What I fail to appreciate is the selfishness of their attitude.

People have lost homes, livelihoods and lives . They can run again next year , Get some perspective  evil:

I would be happier if they saw that this is an opportunity to really make a difference and get different holiday pictures, pictures showing the people they met, helped, supported, lifted.  Hands across the sea sort of stuff.  I suspect they will stay in their hotels, watch TV and go home saying what a dreadful time they had.   evil:
