Out of the Closet into the Cabinet.
« on: February 05, 2013, 10:52:10 AM »
Anna Raccoon writes a brilliant piece prompted by gay marriage...

Quote
The man in the shires wants a government that will organise a good education for his son, not send him to Timbuktu to slaughter Jihadists fleeing Libya. He wants a police force with time to ensure the streets are safe for his wife and daughter, not field hundreds of officers to fret over a footballer being called a ‘poofter’ by an enraged fan. He wants a local hospital that will care for his Mother compassionately, not starve her to death whilst concentrating resources on training midwives to look for signs of genital mutilation carried out 30 years ago on Somalian refugees.

If you ask the ordinary man in the shires whether it is important to chase Jihadists from one country to the next, he probably doesn’t have a view, beyond ‘please don’t use his son to do so’; if you ask him whether it is a good idea to call a footballer a poofter, he might agree that it is not in an ideal world, but could he have the ideal world first please? Enquire of his views on genital mutilation and he would tell you its barbaric, but let’s sort his Mother’s care out first.

Mention the Equality Act and he might even say that those who wish to engage in genital mutilation are as far removed from his life as those who wish to engage in homosexuality; let them get on with it but don’t mock his religious beliefs, and whilst you are about it, can his local landlord and all the customers please have a cigarette with their beer as they always did in the past.

Do go and read it all, it is excellent!  Thumbs:

Thank goodness someone is happy to put words on paper (even electronic ones).
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.

Gay marriage: MPs back bill despite Tory backbench opposition

Quote
MPs have approved legislation for same-sex marriage in England and Wales, despite the opposition of dozens of Conservative MPs.

The Commons voted in favour of the The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, by 400 to 175, a majority of 225, at the end of a full day's debate on the bill.

Prime Minister David Cameron has described the move as "an important step forward" that strengthens society.

Well I do.

Sad to say this, but your words remind me of the words of Mrs G, as that is in essence what she says too.

Sweep it under the carpet and ignore as it really doesn't affect me.
Just go with the flow. Put up and shut up.
We can't alter anything, so why make a fuss?
Not worth getting steamed up about.

My answer to that?

NO!

Well, it was never in any manifesto....

...the majority of the population are against it for whatever reason ('bigots' according to Clegg)...

...the country is completely fucked financially...

...and we are about to be embroiled in another war that is none of our business...

So, while I don't care what gayers do; I do care about the incompetent way in which the country is being run....  cussing:

Now THAT sentence alone has been the mainstay of my arguement against all this utter shite, that many don't agree with anyawy.....but that's another issue.

Wherre was Cameron last night btw whilst the shite was being randomly distributed via the fan? Shrugs:

As you will.

I am more interested, mainly for my descendants, that we have a broken banking system, rampant immigration, dwindling water and energy supplies and huge numbers of people who don't feel the need to work.

We are fortunate to be in the area of food production which will only grow in demand, in a country where increasing numbers of men and women live together and breed without marriage.

The fact that those of other sexual persuasions can now pledge themselves in a church as well as a registry office seems rather insignificant.
I mostly despair

An MP ~ Can't remember which one ~ commented last evening that although this new Bill enables marriage between homosexual couples it makes no mention of divorce or any other way of ending the "marriage".

Just another example of eagerness to be politically correct that has not been fully thought through.  whistle:

TBH I couldn't care less what they do. As DS says the country is broken ~ I'd rather they spent their time and effort on mending it.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

EU politics: gay marriage – required by "Europe"

Quote
This, naked in tooth and claw (to coin a phrase) is Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)5 and the timetable set for "full implementation" in June 2013, with responsibility delegated jointly to the Foreign Office and Government Equalities Offices (see below). And why is the FCO involved? That is because it involves international commitments via the CoE.

Basically, the UK signed up to an EU directive to introduce gayer marriage by June 2013. The whole 'debate' in parliament was a complete sham (Cameron didn't even bother to turn up)...   noooo:

Can we leave yet?

PRECISELY DS!

That's what i mean.
Meanwhile this useless shower of shitesters are fannying about discussing and passing bills on a matter that most I've spoken to don't agree with, including myself.

The ship is sinking, and 'you' cronies' are trying to pretend it isn't by plugging the holes with bastard sellotape, bunch of evil twats. cussing:
