An interesting incident
« on: May 15, 2015, 10:05:16 AM »
There I was, sitting with Mrs DS #3 in the Prince of Inja, when a tall elegant woman sashays over, "Hello Mr Selection, how are you?".

Cogs in brain rapidly spin up to speed while Mrs DS' stare burns into the side of my head. "Er hello, I'm well thank you um...."

Then she says "You don't remember me do you? It's Simone". She extended a well manicured, but rather large hand, just as my brain clicked. "Simon! I haven't seen you for years"

Mrs DS visibly relaxed "Hello Simone, we haven't seen you since (our eldest's) wedding, over 20 years now, what a lovely dress blah blah..."

I remembered Simon as a scrawny and prematurely balding young man who had been part of their circle of college friends.

The conversation turned back to me, "So Mr Selection, how do I look now"

Slightly lost for words I replied "Very nice, although it seems like a lot of effort to avoid people noticing the wig".

My shin is still quite sore this morning.

I mostly despair

It's the Nick effect  lol:
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
