Nottingham City is a one party state (Liebour  evil:). About two years ago all the secondary schools were judged to be failing  noooo:

Last night on the E Midlands news it was revealed that primary school kids are 7 months or more behind the reading age they should be at.

Cue some muppet of a councillor explaining how they were tackling this.

Cue DOLLY PARTON!!!  eeek:

SHe came on screen saying "Hello Nottingham and 'ey up mi duck"

It was explained that DOLLY PARTON's charity is supplying books to City children so that they can read them with their parents  eeek: eeek:

I wrote to the Cllr in question suggesting that this was humiliating. He claims that it is "enterprising" of them.

The idea that an American country singer is charitably supporting education in a wealthy west European city seemed reasonable to him  Banghead Banghead Banghead Banghead Banghead Banghead
