And then: burger denial

Why? God wishes us to starve. Well it would.  Richard Dawkins and Chritopher Hitchens, enlighten them.

I taught in London in the 80s. The Muslims were practically comatose in the afternoons during Ramadan. I am sure God wanted that!

Are burgers permitted by god? If not, why did he invent cows? Or is it bacon? I forget. The Chinese appear to favour Pig's Uterus, I am told.

TBH I think that Ramadan can be downright dangerous!

I recall a couple of years ago going on a trip to Egypt. One thing we arranged toward the end was a river trip to Banana Island from Luxor. This was something we arranged ourselves - not part of the official itinerary.

The boat we hired was handled by a large, very dark skinned gentleman of Moslem persuasion. The boat was a typical Nile boat with sails, however, on this day, there was no wind so the poor bugger had to row the blessed boat a mile or so upstream, against the current, to get all 12 of us to Banana Island. He was sweating like a dog by the time we got there - and he was NOT allowed to drink at all due to Ramadan.

Personally, I'd have thought that physical effort of that sort would be likely to put him on the borders of dehydration and heat stroke under those conditions. But then, he'd probably be rewarded with virgins in the after life so . . . .

I haven't the faintest idea Nick, but that's is allegedly what the suicide brigade are promised as a reward.

Though, if they are virgins, and they plan to stay that way, then it's not much of a reward, no matter how many there are, is it?
