It's sort of true and yes surprising.  Yes she is a solo artist but most of her #1s are as a guest artist with another act EG Clean Bandit.  So she matches Adele, Sandie Shaw and Jessie J with three number 1 singles as lead artist.

And both beat Lulu, Cilla Black, Shirley Bassey, Kate Bush and Mel C who only have 2.  Dusty Springfield only had one which is a tragedy.  Amy MacDonald has none 

We don't do solo female artists very well do we.

Indeed and a crying shame.  For all her many faults she was one hell of a singer and a very sad loss
