Because the stations want an increased audience and they know where the growth can come from?  IMHO a mistake as on a random sample of one woman (Mrs K) she can't stand the women analysts and presenters.

To be fair over on Sky F1 Natalie Pinkham is a far far better host than Simon Lazenby and Rachel Brookes  is excellent too.
