Thanks again all.
Update is that the lad came out of the coma last evening. Is sitting up in bed, all salient parts are moving and he has recognised and spoken to his mother. He has no idea what happened.
Sounds very promising.

Brilliant.. when he gets a lot better tell him that before the acccident he promised to clean the cars every Sunday after mowing the lawns
